Dressing up your hijab

I’ve always been a big fan of “much” when it comes to color and scarves… Thats why my hijab style resembles the egyptian style more than any other. I know, for some people it can be a little bit too much sometimes, but for weddings and such; -Style your hijab to the max, and get some inspiration from these formal/bridal styles!

Loving, liking or leaving it?

Dressy Zebra

Black and white get exciting when a little bit of cherry red is added. Create a glamorous look with plenty of scarves tied together!

Turkish style rocks!

Now normally my hijab-style is more masry, but if I go to Istanbul again anytime soon, I will pay this hijab stylist a visit for sure!

I’m lovin’ it for sure! Strong, beautiful colors, and some of the styles even look like my favorite spanish hijab style wraps! Also I’m digging the purple dress (though it could be a little less tight)!

Would you visit this place?

Designer Hijab

Susan, Nafeesah and Joan Badrkhan are sisters with kurdish origin that live in Norway. Together they have started “The Fashionhouse of Badr”, where they create fashionable hijabs. It all started when one of the sisters was told to remove her headscarf or lose her job. She chose to keep the headscarf, and later she and her sisters started creating hijabs that fit the modern norwegian society. The sisters have experienced great success, and have even been interviewed by Al Jazeera.

Unfortunately I was not able to locate any website, so this was the only photo I found;

What do you think?

*Update: One of my lovely readers got this link for us, where we can read more about this project. Also, here is a picture of one of the designers herself;

Skinny Belts work for hijabis

Yes, It’s true. Normally belts are no-no’s, but a skinny belt can be incorporated in an outfit without taking the modesty away. Unfortunately, you can’t get the right impression with this polyvore creation, but try to imagine the dress inside the open coat, with the orange belt (instead of the black one), loosely tightened over it. I promise you, it’s a look worth trying out. And it’s soo in, just check out Diane Von Furstenberg’s F/W look ’08! PS! You don’t have to tighten it THAT much 🙂
