More turkish hijab!

Lately I’ve fallen in love with the turkish way to wear hijab. The scarf is worn so glamorous, like the old time moviestars, just with an underscarf to take care of the “peeping” hair. I love the turkish way of wrapping combined with a satin trench and biiig sunglasses. That’s what I wore, minus the sunglasses yesterday (rainy and cold)…. But there is more to tesettur clothing than just Tekbir. One of my dear readers gave me a link to Aydan Tesettür, where I found these pics from their 2008 catalog;

Owwwwww! I want the red outfit to the upper right in the first row!! And many more. Look at their website for even more beautiful outfits. I think I need to visit Turkey soon!!!

Do you like the tesettür style?

Runway trends hijabified

What’s hot for hijabis this coming fall/winter season 08′? On your head, it’s gotta be the silky turkish style hijab, seen on many runway shows. It’s a must have. Lace is a trend that is rarely spotted on hijabis (except for the lace underscarves), probably because of the see through-nature of the fabric. But there is no excuse for us not to sport it this season, as gloves also score high trend points this fall. The Trenchcoat is always a classic, and suitable for hijabis too. Buy it in an exciting color, like the blue color spotted on Emilio Pucci’s show.

The blue trench is from Burberry, while you’ll get the best square scarves at this page!

Would you follow any of these trends? Personally I like to dress individually, but I also like to adapt some hijab friendly trends to my wardrobe.

Turkish style rocks!

Now normally my hijab-style is more masry, but if I go to Istanbul again anytime soon, I will pay this hijab stylist a visit for sure!

I’m lovin’ it for sure! Strong, beautiful colors, and some of the styles even look like my favorite spanish hijab style wraps! Also I’m digging the purple dress (though it could be a little less tight)!

Would you visit this place?

Tekbir Fashion

When I was living in Cairo, and whenever I’m visiting, I find my way to one of the Tekbir stores around. Tekbir is a turkish clothing brand with fashion for veiled women. Here are some pictures from their 2008 catalog:

Owwwww… How I want the purple gown/abiye! It looks stunning. Too bad Tekbir clothing (like most turkish clothing in Egypt) cost the double price of the Egyptian produced clothing!!! Look at more tesettür fashion from Tekbir here.

Western style wedding gowns

A lot of places offer western style wedding gowns for veiled women. I dug into the Hijab Magazine 2007 Catalog, and found some less flattering dresses there. I mean, I’m really into egyptian fashion, but some of the clothes just can’t make it to my wish list.. Like my mexican friend said to me when shopping in the City Stars mall; “they are into something, but they just can’t get there”… Here are the best wedding gowns from the 2007 edition:

I think I’d rather trust turkish designers on this one… I don’t know why but somehow they manage to make the dresses way more elegant, with way less sequined stuff. I want one like those underneath from Bala Couture! Now that’s flawless glam for the most important day of them all 🙂
